Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that the police station will be the trusted place for people to get services. He also said that the policemen should strive to deliver the desired services according to the expectations of the people of all sections of the society.
On the third day of Police Week 2023, Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said these things as the chief guest at the IG badge distribution ceremony at Dhaka’s Rajarbagh Police Lines ground today.
The award is given to units that have achieved success in shield parade, illegal arms, drug and contraband operations. For their meritorious contribution to the police, the IGP awarded the ‘Police Force Exemplary Good Service Badge-2022’ (IG’s Badge) to 458 policemen of various units.
The IGP said that the professional excellence of the police is increasing day by day. People’s expectations towards the police have also increased. The policemen should strive to deliver the desired services as per the expectations of the people of all sections of the society. Thana will be the place of trust for people to get services. He said that the steps taken in the recent recruitment, promotion and posting of the police have been widely appreciated in all quarters. This trend of honesty and transparency should be continued.
The Chief of Police said that every policeman should perform his duty by being inspired by the speech given by the Prime Minister at the opening ceremony of Police Week. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, everyone should work together to build a smart Bangladesh.
Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that Bangladesh Police is working on the policy of zero tolerance against drugs and corruption and said that the current position of the police against drugs and corruption should be strengthened. Bangladesh Police has been able to establish itself as a ‘role model’ in the world in combating militancy and terrorism.
